Hey Everyone! Welcome to my new blog, Photography by Jillian. I hope you will follow me as I update quite frequently with photo viewings, sessions, and personal photos.
Just so you can get to know me a little better, I will be sharing about myself, my style and take on photography. I started getting interested in photography when I was in high school. I would take tons of pictures of me and my friends. Once I got to my senior year of high school, I started thinking seriously what I was going to do in college. Photography was something that I had an eye for and a great interest in. I wanted to do something that I loved to do and would be fun to pursue. I majored in Photography in college and received my degree in May of 2010. I photographed a lot of friends and family starting out in college and I thank them for that! With photography classes and practice, I started doing a few weddings here and there. Before I knew it, word was getting out and I started getting bookings through word of mouth. I love photographing weddings and creating a documentation of the beautiful day with candid, intimate moments between people. With natural light and surroundings, I look to capture moments that are real. I also love to photograph families, babies, portraits and nature. I love it all! You won't find me trying to photograph with cheesy poses. I simply tell the subject to be themselves, and act like I'm not there. Thats where all the magic happens. I get into your world and capture it!
In my life right now, I am a full time wife and mother. After having my first baby, Levi, six months ago, my life has turned upside down...but in a wonderful way! I love being a stay at home mom and that has my full attention. However, I am ready to jump start Photography by Jillian in full swing and get back to what I love doing.
